LIFENET API Integration for LIFEPAK 15 & 35 Devices
Overview
We're excited to announce new functionality in emsCharts that allows seamless data import directly from Stryker/Physio’s LIFENET API. This enhancement is part of our new LIFENET API Project which streamlines the process for importing vitals, ECGs, and events from LIFEPAK 15 and LIFEPAK 35 devices directly into your emsCharts ePCR.
What's new
-
Direct API integration: emsCharts now connects directly to the Stryker/Physio LIFENET API endpoint.
-
Device support: Supports both LIFEPAK 15 and LIFEPAK 35 monitor devices.
-
Fast import: Timely import of case specific data including vitals, ECGs, and annotations. Typical import into your chart in approximately 5 seconds.
-
Attachment management: Choose which attachments (e.g., PDF reports, vitals or images) you’d like to import with your case.
-
Simplified workflow: Once enabled and devices are configured, users can select the EKG Device Import option within the chart and choose a Case ID from the available LIFENET events.
-
No more SDK: Enabling the LIFENET API disables the older SDK-based import process for LIFEPAK 15 users.
How to configure your devices
-
Go to Service Configuration > Code Tables > Web ECG Monitor Registration.
-
Click ADD.
-
Enter a name for your monitor, along with the serial number, and select Physio-Control from the vendor drop down menu.
-
Click SAVE and repeat for all Physio monitors your service is utilizing.
How to enable the API
-
Go to Service Configuration > Code Tables > Web ECG Configuration.
-
Select Physio-Control in the Default ECG Vendor drop-down menu.
-
Check the LifeNet API Enabled checkbox to enable API-based imports for your service. Once enabled, the SDK import process will automatically be disabled.
-
Click SAVE.
Known issues
The following are known issues that will be addressed (some are already being worked on):
-
Report filtering options and configurations will be needed. Currently all report types will be available for import.
-
Event names, depending on length, are cut off.
-
Multiple temperatures can be reported in a single vital row with the same timestamp, however only one will import per vital row.
-
The Physio-Control ECG Import Options need to be updated to reflect the new events supported by the new API.
-
Issue with attachments for Services that have Multi-Page PDF configuration. Current work around is to set it to “Default” or “Single-Page PDF”.
-
With the initial rollout, the raw LIFEPAK 15 PCO files and LIFEPAK 35 DRP files will be unavailable for download/attachment to a chart.
